How to apply

Applying to the Fund

You don’t have to submit the application on your own. A lawyer or a trusted person can do it for you. The only important thing is that your consent is given and all necessary information is provided. This way, we want to make the process a little easier for you.

1. First Contact

If you’re unsure whether your case qualifies, reach out to the trustee. Together, you’ll explore:

  • Do you already have legal representation?
  • Have you looked into legal aid?
  • Do you have emotional or social support from TIN counseling centers?
  • Are you willing to enter a cooperation agreement with the fund?

This helps determine whether funding is possible and what steps come next.

2. Submitting the Application

You’ll need to send a written request explaining:

  • What your case is about
  • What costs you expect
  • Whether you already have legal support

Include any relevant documents to help evaluate your situation.

3. Review Process

The trustee and the advisory board will review:

  • Personal significance of your case
  • Potential broader impact on TIN rights
  • Chances of success
  • Your financial need

They aim to find the best solution with you.

4. Decision & Support

If approved, the fund covers the agreed-upon costs. You’ll sign a cooperation agreement.

If only partial funding is possible, they’ll try to help in other ways.

If not approved, you’ll get referrals to other support services.

5. Payout Process

Once approved, the fund covers the agreed costs. If your situation changes, you can always reach out.

6. Afterwards

Keep the fund updated on your case. If you receive compensation or a settlement, you’re encouraged to give a small portion back to support others.
